The Way It Seems

The artwork presents the figure from behind, their spine exposed like the core of existence itself—a raw, vulnerable display of everything carried beneath the surface. Along the ridge of their back, varied orbs pulse and shift, each one distinct in size, shape, and texture, representing the many experiences that have afflicted and shaped the individual. Some orbs appear smooth, luminous, holding remnants of joy or clarity, while others are rough, fragmented, scars of past struggles and unshakable memories. The contrast between the solidity of the spine and the unpredictable forms that cling to it evokes the reality of existence—no single experience is uniform, no moment carries the same weight, yet each lingers, woven into the architecture of who we become. The composition invites reflection, urging the viewer to consider the ways life leaves its imprint, the silent burdens and unseen triumphs that carve themselves into the body, even when the world only sees what remains standing.
